I'm the guy with the Power Glove, watch out.

An original Xbox console! i've always wanted one. Even though the new 360 can play some of the original games, it doesn't play them that well. I've been playing Knights of the Old Republic, and the game would lag, freeze, well as a lot of audio problems. Also, I dig the design of the original console - the big bulky black box with the large X on top. So I bought one. The Star wars game plays so much smoother, well as my other original xbox games. I know it's not that old of a console but the one I got is in great condition, it's used of course. Unfortunately, I need new component cables, and a new controller. Other than that it's been a blast playing it, and here's some pics to show it off ha-ha.

Yeah, congrats on getting an Xbox.  I enjoyed mine quite a bit, although I mostly used it as a DVD player for years.  Halo was quite a blast to play, and I got into The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind some.  A really neat console over all.  I tried to mod mine, but I never got the modchip to work.  Ah well.

No, plans to mod it. Kinda afraid I would ruin it. I do have plans to use it as a DvD player though, I currently use my 360 but the bugger is so loud.

I've been thinking about getting an original Xbox, too.  I do have a 360, but like you say, its backwards compatibility is a bit spotty when working, and a couple of my favorite games (Crazy Taxi 3 and Rallisport 2) aren't backwards compatible at all.  I always wanted a VGA adapter for the Xbox, but was dismayed that they were so expensive, particularly after having one for the Dreamcast for under $20.
