I have been looking around for quite some time and cant figure out how to do it and what tools to use. Ok.

NES Window: I know i need something like a dremel. Is there anything cheaper that works just as good? any suggestions where to get plexi-glass?

LED: CANT FIND a tutorial on where to solder the pins. When I got the glass window on i want it to shine. where would i solder the pins for the LED lights?

Wireless ON/OFF: found another topic but more input will be appreciated

Anyways. Reply here or send me an email @: *Adding an E-mail to a forum post is so n00bish*
Thanks!

Hehe.. a saw works pretty well.  Drill a hole for the blade to go through first, then start cutting.  Actually a dremel is nice for rounding corners smoothly if you need  that sort of thing.  It all depends on whether your window will be square or rounded.  Plexiglass is usually available at any regular ole hardware store.  If you live in the US, that would include Ace, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

So do you want to solder a LED somewhere inside the NES case to make it shine out of a clear window?  In that case, I don't know for sure.  You might be able to just find a +5v line somewhere and an LED up to it, but you're going to need a resistor or two.  You could always extend a wire from the on/off LED's connectors to wherever you want in the case.  Look for a computer case-mod tutorial online for info about how to hook LCDs up to common voltages like 12v and 5v.

All I can say on this issue is what I said on the other thread.  Try a pre-made relay board kit that comes with an IR remote.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I don't know, but I recently looked into making my NES turn off via remote control and I made some progress.  I'll probably order some parts soon and hopefully I can document whatever process I come up with on VC&G.

Until then, Happy Thanksgiving!

That's true.  It's not my cup of tea.  But hey, if c0ldfr3ak wants to, I don't mind.
