As you know or may not know, creating art or screens for a BBS can be time consuming as hell. If I want to get this thing on-line this year I need to do just one set of art. I'm asking which you would prefer, standard ANSI or Rip screens? Here is an example of the same message editor program with one in ANSI and one in Rip. Which would you like to see?

I've never been a fan of RIP myself.  Mostly because I never liked the RIPterm terminal that supported it back in the day.  I'm sure lots of terminal software programs support it now, but still, I'm a traditionalist when it comes to BBSes.  I like my art ANSI. Smiley  Working within the constraints of character-cell graphics made the resulting artwork fun and that much more impressive when it was done well.

I only know of three telnet programs that supports rip 1.54:

RipTel - Abandonware
Qmodem Pro 95- Abandonware
Procomm Plus 32 - Commercial and pricey

All the others are very old DOS based dial-up terminals which just wont work. Most folks don't have copies of any of these and I'd have to provide a hacked version for users....hummm...ANSI it is then.

Any Interactive Fiction fans who wants to try there hand at game design I'll certainly code it up as a door and give credits (exclusive doors, not for sale and we would never make a dime anyway). I would do it, but I'll be spending the next three months doing art.  Cheesy
