Good job!

Finally got it! Got an adapter, and hooked it into my LCD and speakers and keyboard and mouse and went to town!

I have the introduction filmed, now I need to video the game running, but I won't be able to do that til late tomorrow.

Another thing I have noticed is that this system is near-useless without joysticks. None of the games I have tried use just mouse and keyboard, they require joysticks, the only thing I can play is Dungeon Master. Not the greatest video ever. XD

It is SO awesome hearing the R-Type song emulated though... Hmmm... I wonder if I can do Monkey Island?

I've moved this to the old games forum, bit more apt.

What is this system then? Got a picture of it?

I GOT A STICK! 2 sticks actually, two old Genesis arcade sticks, one is busted (but easily repaired) and one works PERFECTLY! SO HAPPY!

Andrew, I will now have a video shortly, my parents are watching TV though, so I'll film it later.

AMIGA IS THE BEST.

Also, question for anybody with a real A500, does R-Type throw a Guru when you use 2.04, or is my 2.04 kick corrupt? (It boots fine, but who knows?)

I have an A500 with 2.04, but I never tried to run anything on it.  Just tinkered around with the workbench.  I don't have a monitor or a TV adapter, so the output is greyscale, which is not acceptable!  Angry

Also, several of the keys constantly stick, and a few others do not work at all.

Actually, the A500 shipped with an RF out (for a TV set -- antenna terminal connection) and a monochrome composite video out.  That's what he's talking about. Smiley  I have a monitor adapter for my A500 somehwere, but I couldn't find it last time I looked, so like sirpaul, my last Amiga 500 experience was a bummer.  I do have an Amiga 1000 though with a HD.  It's pretty cool, but finicky to get it working.

I'm not sure if I have R-Type for it -- but I probably do.  Maybe I'll tinker around with it soon.

I'm trying to find an external scandoubler for my A500, so that I can plug my VGA monitor to it.  At the very least, I would want to get the A520 RF modulator.  I am also searching for another A500, one with 1.3 roms on it instead of 2.04, as that is what I am more used to, and I can switch between the two roms with ease.  I know there are aftermarket items which allow you to install two different roms, but I'd rather have another A500.

2.04 kicks butt, but a lot of games gripe at it for some reason.

That's another reason why I want 1.3.
