Of the choices given, I voted Virtual Boy. That console was a mistake. Sadly, the last thing the great Gunpei Yokoi (creator of Metroid and the original GameBoy) made at Nintendo (he was fired after it flopped). He then moved on to Bandai, created the Wonder Swan, then was killed in a car wreck.

I can suggest two other names that should be there:

Tiger's "Game.com" - unimaginative attempt at riding the dot-com bubble.

Xbox - Wooo, really creative. It expresses nothing. GameCube is almost as laughable, but at least the "Cube" part is a cute reference to the design of the console itself. "Box" is just a weak attempt at being hip with the leet PC gamers. (or Microsoft's marketing department just didn't give a rip).

Cripes.  I can't believe I forgot Game.com.  That should definitely be up there.

And yes, X-Box is rather lame too if you think about it.

I remember the first time I heard the name "Playstation," I thought it was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard.  It sounded like a little kid's toy.  But look at what 200 million sales will get you.  Near-ubiquity in acceptance.  I also seem to recall thinking that "Gamecube" was pretty dumb too.  But ohf well -- I don't mind either of those names at all now because I'm used to them.

Edit: I added Game.com and Xbox to the poll.

GameCube doesnt sound too bad, infact I kinda like it. Aside from the fact that it looks like a purple lunchbox shape and most of the games are for little kids. I dont own one.

I picked up my black one with the Zelda Collection bundle.  Cool One of the older ones so it does have Component output...now to just track down a cable (Nintendo doesn't sell the cables anymore)
The one thing I will way about the Cube is that they have tons of 4-player games and party games (besides the nausiatingly never-ending Mario Party).  PS2 has many good single-player titles. There's nothing on the Xbox that interests me.

The only thing I ever enjoyed on my Gamecube (purple) was Star Fox Adventures...

My personal favorite modern system at the moment is the Gamecube. And I have a black one.  Never could stomach the purple. Smiley
