Wandering through a local used book store I happened upon a small book from 1981: How to Win at Pac-Man. I'll try and get some scans of it up soon. The book is filled with diagrams of how to move through specific boards, always avoiding the ghosts. Apparently the author bumped into a kid at an arcade who showed him a pattern that would let you play perfectly. I'm actually curious if this is the first commercially printed "strategy guide" for a game.

Sweet.  I've seen that Pac-Man pattern many times, actually, in strategy books like that one in the early 1980s.  Feel free to post some scans.

You know what?  You can actually upload and attach images to forums posts now!  Perhaps you should be the first to try that feature out.  Check out the "Additional Options" menu under the main post text window.

I third this idea, mainly because I want to see the forum's attachment option in action!  Smiley
