WOW I haven't been to a hamfest in years. I was introduced by my good friend Sonny Prescott, N6XTW (now a silent key). We'd go almost every weekend to one even or another in Northern California. We'd separate at the gate and the hunt for the good stuff began. When we found something we'd call the other by our 2 meter handhelds.

Hams are a tightnit community, always willing to help one get the best performance from their rigs. and I'm proud to say that I'm part of the family for life.

Thanks for the flashbacks....

Ah, I miss the old days of hamfests with my father. We hit the "big one", the "Hamvention" in Dayton, Ohio once a year for about 6 years or so. I belive at the time it was the biggest hamfest in the nation and the flea market was easily 2-3 large grocery store parking lots in size. I picked up a lot of Atari 2600 games in those days.

I use to go to a lot of HAMfest back in the 90's when I was an electronic technician. They started to progress to HAMfest/Computer Fair at that point, so I got the best of both worlds. Buffalo and Rochester were always a hot spot for these. Picking up old game titles like "Monkey Island" and some much needed alligator clips were high on the agenda! Thanks for the memories.

Awesome, I like the way you treat old computers! ^_^ I admire your passion as well, that's why your site is so fascinating!

And I may be wrong, but I thought HAM was something like Hold And Modify?
