ROFL, but you should have put “Chestnuts roasting UNDER open fire”! XD

  2. Benj Edwards Says:

That’s a good one, Kitsune. 🙂 I’ll just let you take the credit for that one.

Love the “for Apple computer with 48K and disk drive” sysreqs. Wolfenstein was an amazing game and I still play the IBM PC version occasionally using DOSBox. PC games now require a computer that NASA would envy although I’m not sure that the gameplay is proportionally that much better than Wolfenstein.

    Amen Dennis. Amen.

  5. Kitsunexus Says:

Well the gameplay is proportionally better than NASA.

    I’m blogging this! 🙂

As an aside, I noticed the “Circle 75” at the bottom of the ad and thought I’d comment on that. Some of you whippersnappers might not be able to remember a time before the Internet and the World Wide Web. In those days you’d buy a tech magazine (or any magazine, come to think of it) and if you wanted more information from a vendor or manufacturer there was a card in the back of the magazine with a series of numbers on it. You’d circle the ones pertaining to the ad you wanted more info on, and drop it into the mail. Then the magazine publishers would set their trained monkeys…er, interns to work on them. It was all very kludgey, but it was all we had and we liked it, gol durnit! Now get off’n my lawn!

I remember seeing ads back in the back of computer mags and I so wanted it. Of course I was using a PC (286 atthe time) and it was only for the II/III and I was pissed (I wanted to kill nazis at my age of 5/6)… Of course Castle Wolfenstien showed back up as a one of the first 3d games (ok – not 100% 3D – but was the step up from Commander Keen!)… Those were the days.
