I don't get all the pooyan hate - it's not Konami's best game, but it's simple fun. (did you know there's a 2600 version?)

Anyway, my favorite Konami game is Castlevania II: Simon's quest. Nevermind what the AVGN says.

Gyruss is my favorite Konami arcade classic (never reached Earth, tho'), with Rush'n Attack (Green Beret) a close second. Pooyan is best forgotten... we could even blame the guys at Centuri for making that one, lol.

I'd have to say Contra, Super C, and Contra III took a ton of my time in those years. Beyond that though I've probably clocked way more hours into the Castlevania series. I also loved Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Just recently my friends and I started calling the Nintendo NES, the Konami Entertainment System as an inside joke. Sirpaul is definitely right. Konami put out many good NES/SNES games in their time. they coveted their status as one of the top third party licenses for Nintendo early on and that simple fact lives on among retro gaming fans of today.

You're probably right, SirPaul: I counted Konami as one of the best publishers on the NES. It seemed like every Konami game I picked up back then was very high quality.

A better question for me would be, what ISN'T your favorite classic Konami game of all time? and that answer is most likely Pooyan. Just about every other Konami game is awesome, and has a special place in my heart.
