    The difference between a notebook and a laptop is, no one can sue you for burning their lap if you call it a notebook.

    A notebook is filled with paper. A laptop is a computer. 😀

    A laptop PC is (was) something the size of a briefcase, and heavy. A notebook is smaller, lighter, and about the size of a, well, notebook.
