I actually still have a “Barcode Battler” and when you could actually get it to scan a barcode it was pretty fun. Usually its generating program would result in really mismatched fights; my cereal box barcode would get completely owned by my brother’s Snicker’s UPC.
I should dig that out and see if it still works…

Awesome. Please do — and let us know if it still works!

Heh, interesting to note that Barcode Battlers lives on, at least the idea does, as SKANNERZ (no not the cool head exploding movie):

I’ve owned two, they’re pretty cool, tech stuff is about par with any other dot-matrix toy… and there was a secret debug menu and everything…

    Unfortunately I don’t know what I did with mine…

  4. MegaKitsune Says:

Oh, forgot to mention that the scanning device on the Skannerz is better than the Barcode Battler, you don’t have to cut out the UPCs anymore, you scan them on whatever you found them on…

Haha, I loved the comment on the Cambells soup calling Barcode Battlers. Lol.

    Keep it coming. =D
