I still have a Commodore 1084 monitor that still works fine even though it was manufactured almost 30 years ago. I mostly use it with a Commodore 128 to play some old games when I’m feeling nostalgic. It’s a great monitor.

    I have a Commodore CBM-1702; a Commodore-Amiga 1084, a 1084S and a 1080; an Apple Multiple Scan 15AV and an Apple Multiple Scan 1705; and a NeXT MegaPixel 17 Color.

    My favorite is the 1702.

I own… an Amdek Color-I, actually. It replaced an old TI 99/4 monitor(which was apparently a rebranded Zenith). I use it on my 99/4a.
The NTSC-era game consoles are hooked up to a nice NTSC TV from the late 90s. It’s probably sharper than the monitor, in all honesty. ‘S just not convenient to have a computer-in-a-keyboard under the TV, you know? And thus the monitor stays.

I have a Commodore 1802 that’s missing the front panel for the controls. I use it for my C64 and VIC-20, and the colors are still vivid and pretty accurate when compared to TV output.

I remember these monitors… not fondly because if you left a disk on top of them when you powered them on, the degauss cycle would usually wipe the disk. A painful lesson the first time everyone learned it.

When I went off to college all alone, I didn’t have a TV. But I did take one of these monitors with me from our old Apple II. I used it to hook my Nintendo 64 to. It got me by until I could afford a TV. Paper Mario was my only friend for several weeks until I met some people.

No idea what happened to it. It’s not like me to just toss this kind of stuff, so I must have given it to someone.

    Wow, memories.

I, too, had a couple of Amdeks. One I used for my SNES console when I didn’t have room for a TV. Great color and compact size were perfect for my situation.

I wonder what ever happen to them…
