Fuzzy MemoryEvery once and a while, I receive emails from people looking for a certain game, electronic toy, or computer from their distant past. I then pass it on to intrepid VC&G readers to crack the case.

The Clues

Roberto writes:

I’m trying to find an “nostalgy” old game, I remember a mouse running through a labyrinth eat cheeses and a boa pursuit it.

Several years I’m trying to find this old dos or ms dos game.
Can you help to find it?

Thanks in advance,
Roberto

Was it perhaps “Evolution”? It’s not _all_ about snakes and mice and cheese, but… check out the gameplay here in the attract mode at 1:48, where you’ve reached the stage where you’re a mouse, digging through a maze, trying to avoid snakes:

This is the only thing I could find that wasn’t Windows 3.1-based that fit all the criteria — nothing else I could dig up had mice and snakes and cheese (though I’d argue that maybe that isn’t cheese that we’re seeing…).

Okay, I guess it _is_ cheese:

Sounds a lot like Exidy’s Mouse Trap from 1981. However, cats chased the mouse and not a snake though it’s possible the snakes were put there in a bootleg version. Rodent’s Revenge is also another possibility.

    Roberto updated me:

“I find the name and authors of game: Master Mouse (1989)(M.I. Dianov, Igor Dianov) I’m trying to find a download.”

I was thinking “Rodent’s Revenge” that was one of my all time favorites!

    Rodents Revenge 100%
